Fall Morning Routine For Peace + Productivity
Aug 29, 2022Fall is one of my favourite times of the year - cool mornings, crisp leaves, sweater weather and hot drinks. But I would be lying if I said it didn't also bring some blah feelings too. Something about living in a beach town, summer is where it's at, but getting back on schedule after a busy summer really sparks joy for me too.
One of the most important parts of my day is my morning. Specifically, my morning routine.
This is such a cherished time for me and my routine truly sets the tone for my entire day.
So if like me, you're looking for the perfect Fall morning routine for peace and productivity, keep reading.
Calm Fall Morning Routine For Productivity
1. The Night Before
I know what you're thinking, isn't this a morning routine? It is, but my morning routine actually begins the night before.
Right before I go to sleep I do a brain dump. In my notebook, I itemize what needs to be done the following day.
I ask myself:
Do I need to do this myself?
Can I delegate this?
Or do I delete it (is it really important that I get this done the next day).
This way, when I wake up in the morning, I know exactly how I will be spending my day. This helps keep those first waking hours focused, calm and peaceful.
2. Wake Up Naturally
I spent a lot of my adult life waking up well before the sun to an alarm. Getting out of bed at this time was a non-negotiable for me. But as I have grown, I've learned that sleep is a crucial part of your health.
And so I no longer wake up to an alarm but my body will naturally wake up sometime between 5:15 and 6am.
From there it's right to brush my teeth and put on my workout clothes.
3. Hydrate
The first thing that goes into my body each morning is water. I drink a full 40 oz first thing in the morning to get hydrate and get things moving.
4. Meditate
Meditation has become such an important practice in my life. Each morning I meditate for around 10-15 minutes.
Here are my favourites:
Waking Up App
Beachbody ON Demand meditations with Bee Bosnak or Sound Meditation
5. Book Of Proof
How is life working out for me?
I list 5 things that are happening right now that signify I am going in the right direction.
6. Envision My Future
I know this sounds wacko, but my vision is clear, so I will put on some music and just sit for a few minutes and envision what that life looks and feels like.
7. The To Do's
I look over my brain dump from the night before and asses what needs to get done. Is there anything I need to do ASAP? I then check my inbox and texts for anything that is pressing or urgent.
8. Reading
Personal development is a huge part of my life and something that I work on every single day. My favourite way to get it in is to jump on my indoor bike and either read my book of choice for 15 mins or listen to Brendon Burchard on the Growth Day App.
9. Energize
This is the best part! I drink Energize by Beachbody every morning as not only my pre-workout but also to help me focus while giving me that energy boost I crave in the morning (notice there hasn't been any coffee yet?)
You can check out Energize here.
10. Wake Up Call
Since I am almost always the first one up, I head upstairs to wake up my family and get whatever I need to get organized, organized.
11. Workout
While my husband and daughter are getting themselves together, I head down to get in my 30 minute workout. This varies day to day depending on what phase of my cycle I am in, but there is always some type of movement at this time.
And then from there it's getting my kiddo off to school, shower and get ready for the day and then break my fast.
Then it's time to get down to business.
